Unified Test Automation With This New Integration

“Is the release ready?” asks the Product Owner.

It is hard to answer due to the number of requirements stated for this project, executed across different automated test suites.

You access the test referential containing the requirements but have no visibility of the test execution status; the remaining solution is a hell of spreadsheet lookups.

Good solutions are good at one thing.

The integration between Xqual and Cerberus Testing is now available for a unified approach to test automation.

This article shares the key reasons and value you can get from this integration.

Xqual and Cerberus Testing, a valuable union

Cerberus Testing is the open-source test automation platform, enabling fast collaboration for web, mobile, APIs, desktop, and database testing.

Xqual is the test orchestration solution orchestrating the entire Application Life-cycle Management, also focusing on facilitating teamwork.

The integration enables you to reconcile test management with test automation.

Our goal was to suppress the pain associated with different solutions that do not talk to each other.

Time is one of the most important resources for survival in the digital world; there is no time to lose in low-level and data manipulation tasks.

The Xqual and Cerberus Testing integration support different use-cases.

What can you do with Xqual and Cerberus Testing?

The integration enables you to automatically synchronize your test referential with the automated tests status.

No more time lost in manual exports and spreadsheets:

  • Tests are launched from requirements directly from Xqual;
  • Reports are natively available in Xqual and Cerberus Testing.
Figure 2: The integration lets you follow Cerberus Testing executions directly in Xqual.

You can focus on delivering more valuable improvements in your functional and non-functional requirements.

The flow of work is improved with fast feedback loops on:

  1. Business requirements definition, abstracted from future implementations;
  2. Test requirements and engineering delivered fast with the two platforms;
  3. Requirements reporting to verify your overall requirements status.

Your big picture remains continuously in sync.

Here’s how you can achieve that.

How to configure Cerberus Testing with Xqual?

The flow of information requires Xqual to know the Cerberus Testing instance to use, in order to launch and retrieve the test results.

You just have to set these two parameters: “Base URL” and “API Key” in XQual in the agent configuration.

These two information are available in Cerberus Testing; check with your administrator, the documentation or the community for doing it.

You can then launch your test, you will directly have the results appearing on the logs and in the standard reporting of Xqual.

You are now ready for faster feedback loops.

Integrations create the platform to accelerate test automation

This new integration lets you foster a collaborative ecosystem across the software delivery lifecycle.

Your product owner, business analysts, and quality engineers can collaborate on the requirements on the same flow from the start.

These requirements are then rapidly implemented using Cerberus Testing native library, integrations, and scalability features.

You then have access to the reports and notifications to continuously measure your outputs with your outcomes, making the difference.
